Chartography
A living atlas for the curious mind

A new way to know the world

Chartography is a geography game, an exploration platform, and — in the long run — a living atlas of the world's cultures and knowledge. It's the kind of project that takes years to build and a lifetime to explore.

Three stages. One long-range idea.

Each stage stands on its own and is genuinely useful. Together, they build toward something much larger.

1
In development

Play. Learn. Actually Remember.

A map quiz engine that goes far beyond capitals and country names. Chartography uses AI to generate rich, contextual knowledge around any geography — so you learn what actually interests you. Travelers preparing for a trip, students studying for an exam, or anyone who wants a deeper map in their head: the context you add is what makes the names stick.

2
On the horizon

Explore the World You're In.

Bring Chartography into the real world. Location-aware discovery challenges for travelers and locals turn any city, country, or neighborhood into a richer, more meaningful experience. Design your own adventures. Share them with others. Every exploration contributes to the living picture we're building.

3
Long-range goal

A Living Atlas of Human Knowledge.

The real purpose: a crowdsourced global data platform for researchers, educators, and institutions — with tools that make the patterns connecting culture, geography, and human behavior visible and explorable. Think Hans Rosling, but with every variable you can imagine, updated in real time, built by a global community.

"Geography isn't just about where things are. It's the frame for understanding why people are the way they are — shaped by distance from the equator, by altitude and climate, by history and migration. A tool that makes those connections visible and explorable is one of the most powerful educational instruments imaginable."
